  meaning: + new, ^ improved, * changed, - removed

  + All actions can be performed by menuitems now (proposed by several users)
    The former Help-window has become obsolete. 'Help' now shows some
    additional shortcuts. The right mousebutton is no longer usable for key
    commands because it is filtered off by intuition. See below for new
    shortcuts.
  + 'F3' (move window) now works even if the window has maximum size.
  + Small improvements concerning detection and conversion of DocBook files
  + 'Unpack select' can be called instantly by Shift-U (or by menu). The old
     key combination 'V'+'V' still works, too.
  + NEXT now uses your preferred busypointer (Luca Longone)
  * Reqtools file and fontrequesters have been replaced by those of
    asl.library, reqtools.library no longer needed (Luca Longone)
  * Some commands and modes have been renamed, e.g.
    - 'Load' to 'Open': new shortcuts O, Shift-O, Amiga-O (shortcuts with
       'L' are still functional)
    - 'ReLoad' to 'Open history'
    - 'Load next' to 'Scan next'
    - 'Switch conversion' to 'Invert conversion'
    and so on...
  * Startoption 'ROWS' renamed to 'COLUMNS'
    NOTE: Replace 'ROWS' by 'COLUMNS' in your next.prefs file otherwise
    NEXT will fall back to default settings!
  * Setting a mark is now done with LShift-LMB/RShift-LMB, no longer with
    Shift-LMB/Shift-RMB.
  * Search by mouseclick (ci): down with Ctrl-LMB, up with Ctrl-Shift-LMB
    Search by mouseclick (cs): CapsLock must be on ;-< , down also with
    Ctrl-Alt-LMB
  * Settings for display modes have been put into the 'Settings' menu and
    separated from 'Printsettings'. The former settings window opened with '`'
    is now for 'Printsettings' only.
  - Startoption DTMode removed because this mode is default now. But can be
    switched off by menuitem 'DataType mode'.
    NOTE: Remove this option in your next.prefs file!
  - In the 'Open/Load' requester additional options can't be entered any more,
    only names of files or directories are allowed. Also next.files shouldn't
    contain any options as was possible before.
  - The datatype pointer has been removed :-(. Look into the 'Settings' menu
    to see if the 'DataType mode' is on or off.
  - The 'DataType mode' can no longer be toggled by Shift-A, only by menu.
  - BUG: Search routines had been slowed down by a small bug, are now 1.15 to
    4 times faster.

  + Menüs für alle Aktionen. Durch die Umstellung auf Menüs
    ist das bisherige Help-Fenster überflüssig geworden. Mit
    Help werden nun Shortcuts angezeigt, die in den Menüs nicht
    untergebracht werden konnten. Rechte Maustaste und rechte Amigataste
    können wegen der Menüs nicht mehr wie bisher eingesetzt
    werden. Neue Shortcuts s. unten
  + Alle Einstellungen jetzt im Menü "Settings" zusammengefasst und
    jederzeit änderbar
  + "Unpack select" nun auch direkt über Menü oder Shift-U
    erreichbar
  + bessere Erkennung von DocBook-Dateien
  + Taste F3 (move window) funktioniert jetzt auch mit maximal
    geöffnetem Fenster. Es wird verkleinert und dann nach unten
    bewegt.
  + Filenote (Shift-I) zeigt im Stringgadget die alte filenote (falls
    vorhanden), die man edieren kann.
  + Verwendung des in Prefs voreingestellten Busypointers (Luca Longone)
  * File-, Font- und Save-Requester auf asl.library umgestellt, reqtools
    also nicht mehr erforderlich (Luca Longone)
  * Umstellung von OS2+ auf OS3+, weil einige OS3-spezifische Routinen
    verwendet werden
  * Bezeichnungen einiger Aktionen und Modi geändert, z.B. Open statt
    Load, die Shortcuts mit Taste L funktionieren aber weiterhin
  * Startoption ROWS in COLUMNS umbenannt. Next.prefs muss entsprechend
    geändert werden, sonst werden alle folgenden Optionen nicht mehr erkannt!
  * Blockmarkierung mit LShift/RShift-LMB, statt wie bisher Shift-LMB/-RMB
  * Suche mit Maus ci: runter Ctrl-Click, hoch Ctrl-Shift-Click
  * Suche mit Maus cs: zusätzlich CapsLock
  *, Das bisherige Settings-Fenster heißt jetzt "Printsettings",
    weil es nur noch Festsetzungen für den Druck erlaubt, die restlichen
    Einstellungen sind über das Settings-Menü erreichbar.
  - Option DTMode/S entfernt, ist jetzt default. DTMode in next.prefs bitte
    entfernen
  - Im Open/Load-Requester können keine zusätzlichen Optionen
    mehr eingegeben werden, nur noch Datei- oder Verzeichnisnamen. Das
    gilt auch für next.files (MyFiles), wo nur Dateien und Verzeichnisse
    stehen dürfen.
  - DataType-Pointer entfernt (dafür Anzeige des Modus durch Menü)
  - keine Umschaltung des DataType-Modus mit Shift-A mehr, nur über Menü
  - BUG: Ein kleiner Fehler machte die Suchroutinen langsamer als sie
    eigentlich sind, jetzt sind sie 1.15 bis 4 mal schneller.
